Church History

Midway Southern Baptist Church was founded on August 6, 1967.  A special service was arranged to organize a Southern Baptist Church. Midway was selected for the name as it is midway between the surrounding communities of Dibble, Lindsay, Chickasha, Purcell and Blanchard. The 23 articles of the New Hampshire Confession of Faith were read and the Church Covenant that we still hold today. The Midway Southern Baptist Church was officially dedicated to the Lord. In September 1967, a petetion was made for the church to be added into the Union Baptist Association. On October 19, 1967, the Union Baptist Association donated 10 acres to Midway Southern Baptist Church and on October 23, 1967, the church was incorporated.
